Axcis Education is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant on behalf of an exceptional school that caters to the unique needs of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The successful candidate will be joining a team committed to providing support for individuals with social, emotional, mental health, and behavioural needs in an Alternative Provision setting.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to deliver educational support tailored to individual student needs.
- Assist in the creation and implementation of individualized education plans.
- Foster a safe, nurturing environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support students in managing their social and emotional needs.
- Provide differentiated support across a variety of subjects and activities.
- Facilitate small group work and one-to-one sessions to reinforce learning objectives.
- Monitor and report on students’ progress, maintaining accurate records.
- Assist with the preparation of classroom materials and set up learning environments.
- Establish a rapport with students, acting as a positive role model.
Requirements:
- Experience working with SEND, SEMH, or in an Alternative Provision environment is highly desirable.
- Possess a patient, empathetic approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Teaching Assistant Certificate or Degree in Education/Special Educational Needs are advantageous.
- Must undergo an Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
