A nurturing and inclusive primary school in L31, Maghull is seeking a committed EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist SEN unit this September. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference during a child’s crucial early development.
About the Role
You will work as part of a dedicated team within the school’s SEN provision, supporting EYFS pupils with complex needs, including non-verbal communication, sensory sensitivities, and social-emotional challenges.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support in a structured early years setting
Supporting children with communication, emotional regulation, and early learning tasks
Promoting independence, positive relationships, and a safe, engaging environment
Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and specialist professionals to deliver consistent, nurturing support
This is a hands-on, rewarding role where you’ll play a key part in helping young children build confidence, connection, and a love for learning.
What We’re Looking For
Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in early years or specialist settings
Understanding of EYFS development and how to adapt activities for diverse needs
A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply – we can support with this)
A calm, compassionate, and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to inclusive education
