Contract Type: Temporary (with potential for longer-term support, pending EHCP funding)
About the Role:
A private school in Notting Hill are seeking an experienced and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support their son in a private primary school setting. The child has ADHD and Type 1 Diabetes, and requires a dedicated person to provide consistent, attentive support throughout the school day.
Your main responsibilities will include:
-Monitoring and managing the child’s blood glucose levels throughout the day.
-Supporting the child in class to maintain focus, attention, and engagement in learning activities.
-Working closely with teachers and the family to implement strategies that promote concentration and confidence.
-Ensuring the child’s safety, wellbeing, and inclusion within the school environment.
Requirements:
-Proven experience supporting children with ADHD in a primary school environment.
-Awareness or experience managing Type 1 Diabetes (training can be provided).
-Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – essential.
-Warm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
-Willingness to meet and liaise with the family before starting, to ensure a good match.
Additional Information:
This position is being self-funded by the family while they await EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) funding.
