Job Title: Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary – Barking & Dagenham From £100 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | September Start Axcis are supporting a welcoming primary school in Barking & Dagenham who are looking for a confident and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This role will involve supporting pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and social, emotional or behavioural needs. The school has a strong community feel and a supportive leadership team who understand the importance of high-quality classroom support. Staff work closely together to create a calm, structured and positive learning environment where pupils with additional needs can build confidence and independence. The school is accessible by public transport and offers parking for staff. About the Role You will be supporting pupils across the primary phase, both within the classroom and through targeted small-group or 1:1 support. This role would suit someone who is proactive, patient and able to build positive relationships with children quickly. You will: • Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small-group basis • Assist with classroom learning, interventions and differentiated activities • Use visuals, routines and positive reinforcement to support engagement • Help pupils with emotional regulation and social interaction • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support EHCP targets • Encourage independence, confidence and participation throughout the school day What We’re Looking For • Previous experience supporting children with SEND • Understanding of autism, ADHD, communication needs or SEMH • Calm, patient and consistent approach • Ability to use initiative in a busy classroom • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Full-time availability from September With a competitive daily rate from £100 per day, this is a strong opportunity for an experienced SEND TA looking for a long-term role in a supportive Barking & Dagenham primary school.
