The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, with a particular focus on autism, communication difficulties and pupils who require additional support to access learning within the mainstream classroom. About the Role You will be supporting pupils across the primary phase, both in class and through targeted support. This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships quickly, use initiative and adapt their approach depending on the needs of each child. You will: • Support pupils with autism, speech and language needs and additional learning difficulties • Work 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils access classroom learning • Use visual supports, structured routines and calm communication strategies • Support emotional regulation, transitions and positive behaviour • Assist the class teacher with differentiated resources and learning activities • Work closely with the SENCO and wider staff team to support EHCP outcomes What We’re Looking For • Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a school or childcare setting • Understanding of autism, communication needs or sensory regulation strategies • Calm, patient and nurturing approach • Ability to use initiative and respond to pupils’ needs throughout the day • Strong teamwork and communication skills • Full-time availability from September With a competitive rate from £100 per day, this is a brilliant opportunity for a committed SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term September role in Tower Hamlets.
