SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Purfleet From £100 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | September Start Axcis are working with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Purfleet who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with children who need additional support to access learning, build confidence and develop independence. The school has a warm community feel and a strong focus on inclusion, with staff working together to make sure pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn. The school is based in the Purfleet area and is accessible by local transport links, with routes from Thurrock, Rainham, Grays, Dagenham and surrounding areas. About the Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across the primary phase with a range of additional needs. This may include autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, social communication difficulties, learning delays or emotional regulation needs. You will: • Support pupils with SEND within mainstream classroom settings • Work 1:1 and in small groups to help children access learning • Use visual supports, structured routines and positive reinforcement • Support pupils with communication, transitions and emotional regulation • Assist the class teacher with differentiated activities and resources • Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction • Work closely with the SENCO and wider support team to follow individual plans What We’re Looking For • Previous experience supporting children with SEND, autism, ADHD or communication needs • A calm, patient and nurturing approach • Confidence supporting pupils both academically and emotionally • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils quickly • Good classroom awareness and willingness to use initiative • Full-time availability and commitment to a long-term role from September This is a fantastic opportunity for a SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term role in a welcoming Purfleet primary school.
