Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Walton, Surrey Employment Type: Full-time (Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 15:30) Salary: Paid to scale About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support classroom teachers in a vibrant primary/secondary setting in Walton, Surrey. The successful candidate will contribute to a positive learning environment, assist with lesson delivery, and help nurture the academic and personal growth of all pupils. Key Responsibilities • Support the class teacher with planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons. • Provide one-to-one and small-group assistance to students with varying needs. • Supervise pupils during classroom activities, meals, and outdoor play, ensuring safety and well-being. • Help maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and behaviour. • Contribute to the creation of inclusive, engaging learning resources. • Assist with administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, and equipment setup. • Promote positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policy. Essential Requirements • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics (or higher). • Experience working with children in an educational setting (school, nursery, or youth club). • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents. • Patience, resilience, and a proactive attitude. • Commitment to safeguarding and child-protection procedures. Desirable • Relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, NVQ). • Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
