1:1 Teaching Assistant – ASC Support Location: Dorchester, Dorset Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday Pay: £92.63–£97 per day PAYE Start: ASAP Axcis Education is working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Dorchester that is looking to recruit a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support two pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will provide dedicated 1:1 support for one pupil during the morning and another during the afternoon, helping them engage in learning, build confidence, and develop their independence. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo, you'll play an important role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every pupil has the opportunity to succeed. Your role will include: - Providing 1:1 support for two pupils with ASC across the school day. - Encouraging engagement, confidence, and independence in the classroom. - Supporting social communication, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour. - Adapting learning resources to meet individual needs. - Delivering targeted interventions where appropriate. - Working alongside the class teacher and SENCo to support individual learning plans and EHCP targets. - Monitoring pupil progress and celebrating achievements. - Helping maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment. - Following safeguarding procedures and contributing to the wider school team. We're looking for someone who: - Has experience working with children in a school or similar setting. - Has supported pupils with ASC or other additional needs. - Is patient, compassionate, and resilient. - Has strong communication and teamwork skills. - Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff. - Is confident supporting literacy and numeracy activities and adapting learning to individual needs.
