Job Title: Teaching Assistants for SEMH Secondary Alternative Provision

Our client, an SEMH Secondary Alternative Provision, is seeking multiple full-time Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team. About the Role: • Classroom Support: You will work with secondary-aged pupils in small class sizes of around 8 students, providing personalised support to meet their SEMH needs. • Specialized Environment: This school is part of a wider trust that offers regular trust-wide training, including Team Teach and other de-escalation strategies, ensuring you are equipped to manage challenging behaviour and foster a positive learning environment. • Full-Time Position: The role is Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with the potential to lead to a permanent contract. Responsibilities: • Support students with SEMH in their academic, social, and emotional development. • Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to create a safe and nurturing environment. • Use behaviour management strategies, including those learned through Team Teach, to support positive student outcomes. • Build strong relationships with students, helping them to engage in learning and develop essential life skills. What We’re Looking For: • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable. • Strong communication and behaviour management skills, with a proactive approach to challenges. • Willingness to undertake training, including Team Teach, to enhance your skillset. • A commitment to making a real difference in the lives of students with SEMH.
