Job Title: Welfare Staff
Axcis Education are seeking welfare staff to work in a specialist primary school in Skelmersdale. This role would be part time – working 11.30am – 1.30pm, Monday to Friday on an ongoing basis. There may be potential to pick up more hours as TA cover where required. There is also potential for permanent positions for the right applicant. The role is based in a specialist SEND primary which caters for children with severe learning disabilities and complex needs. There are other needs within the school including autism, mobility, and medical needs. Personal care will be required as part of the role. The school was rated as ‘outstanding’ in its most recent OFSTED inspection, with note given to the excellent support staff receive and the pride staff feel working there. Responsibilities: - Supervise and support SEND children during their lunch break, ensuring their safety and well-being. - Assist students with their lunch, helping those with specific dietary needs or feeding requirements. - Foster a supportive and inclusive environment, encouraging positive social interactions. To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience working with the SEND mentioned above. Previous experience working with children in some form, ideally a school setting, would be preferred. This position may suit applicants coming from a care background due to the complex needs of some students. You will require an enhanced DBS, either dated in the past 12 months, or ideally on the update service, for this role.
