We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5/6 Teacher to join our vibrant school community in Rochdale, Lancashire for a maternity cover position. This role is suitable for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators who possess strong classroom management skills and are comfortable with delivering a creative and engaging curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively, promoting a positive and stimulating learning environment.
- Utilize a variety of teaching techniques to meet the diverse needs and interests of students.
- Assess and record students' progress systematically, providing feedback to support further development.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students, differentiating instruction to support learners.
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the pupils.
- Cultivate a collaborative classroom environment where students respect one another and feel valued.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians with regular updates on their child’s progress and wellbeing.
- Participate in departmental, school meetings, and parent meetings.
Requirements:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification recognized in the UK.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to ensure a safe learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
- Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Previous experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2 is highly desirable.
