We are looking for a dedicated Year 7 Transition Teacher to join our SEND team. This role requires creativity, flexibility, and the ability to deliver multi-sensory, engaging lessons that support diverse learning needs.
About the Role
As a Year 7 Transition Teacher, you will:
• Support students with SEMH needs as they adapt to secondary school life.
• Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, multi-sensory lessons tailored to individual learning profiles.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where students can thrive academically and
emotionally.
• Collaborate with parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to student
development.
• Manage behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement strategies.
Essential Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
• Proven experience teaching in a SEND setting, particularly with students with SEMH needs.
• Expertise in creating and delivering engaging lesson plans that incorporate multi-sensory learning
approaches.
• Strong behaviour management skills and a commitment to fostering student well-being.
Desirable Skills
• Experience working with Year 7 students during the transition period.
• Knowledge of assistive technologies and inclusive teaching strategies.
• A proactive, adaptable approach to teaching in a dynamic SEND environment.
