These fields often develop the key qualities we look for: • Resilience – You can stay calm in challenging situations • Emotional intelligence – You understand trauma and human behaviour • Authority and empathy – You can set boundaries and build trust • Quick thinking – You can adapt on the spot and respond to changing needs You might come a background in: • Youth work or residential care • Sport or coaching • Military roles • Behaviour support or mentoring roles • Police work or the youth justice system ________________________________________ What You’ll Do: Every day will be different, but you’ll typically: • Work 1:1 or in small groups with students aged 11–16 • Help pupils manage emotions, access learning, and build self-belief • Use trauma-informed strategies to de-escalate behaviour • Celebrate progress—no matter how small These students need someone who sees their potential, not just their problems.
