Why Work With Axcis?

Axcis are leaders in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) recruitment. We pride ourselves on being one of the only education employment agencies in the UK dedicated entirely to SEND, and are proud to sponsor National Association for Special Educational Needs (nasen), as well as supporting other SEND charities. See our About Axcis page for more information. We have a broad base of experience recruiting staff for a range of different special needs settings. These include, but are not limited to; SEND units within mainstream primary and secondary schools, pupil referral units (PRUs), residential schools, provisions which specialise in autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and many others. We work with maintained and independent schools as well as assisting with SEND staffing at borough level – and sometimes even in private homes.

Our Candidates

We attract applications from a huge range of candidates every week. These include individuals who are highly experienced in SEND as well as those seeking their first appointment (and everything in between!) We have Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Cover Supervisors, Therapists, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinators, Deputy Heads and Head Teachers seeking work through us in a range of settings and locations across England and Wales.

Our Consultants & Compliance

Our consultants are highly trained in the sector and often have prior experience working with special needs themselves, giving them an unparalleled ability to meet your need for support with SEND staffing. When you enlist them to help with your vacancies, they will undertake a rigorous advertising, selection and interview process on your behalf. Our compliance team will then ensure that any candidates we send to you fully meet all the requirements laid out by the DfE for safer recruitment in schools. In addition to this, you will be sent a summary sheet detailing all checks performed for each staff member you receive for your records. Many schools tell us that this makes inspections a breeze as they can easily demonstrate that vetting for supply staff has been carefully checked and recorded.

Services We Offer

We can help you with short-term and day-to-day requirements as well as longer-term and permanent contracts. We also offer competitive temporary to permanent options if you have someone from us on supply who you’d like to retain on a permanent basis. We don’t charge a penny for our services until you find someone you’d like to book for work, so it never hurts to have a look at who we have available.

Get In Touch

Feel free to contact us with your SEND vacancies – our offices are open 7am-6pm during term time. Alternatively, we are happy to come and visit your setting to discuss our services further and better understand your provision prior to undertaking any recruitment on your behalf. The choice is yours!

Testimonials

If you have not worked with us before, it is understandable that you may not be sure if we are the right agency for you or not. If that's the case, why not take a look at the testimonials we receive from the candidates and clients who work with us?
