Location: Sutton
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 3:45pm (Term Time Only)

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? We are recruiting dedicated and resilient 1:1 Support Assistants to join a welcoming all through special school in Sutton.
This is an excellent opportunity to support a pupil with Autism, SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and non verbal communication. You'll play a key role in helping them feel safe, engaged, and successful throughout the school day.
What You'll Be Doing
As a 1:1 Support Assistant, you will work closely with one pupil, providing consistent support both inside and outside the classroom. Every day is different, and your role will involve encouraging learning, building confidence, and helping the pupil regulate their emotions in a positive and supportive environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing dedicated one to one support throughout the school day.
• Supporting the pupil during lessons and helping them engage with learning activities.
• Supervising and assisting the pupil when moving around the school.
• Using positive behaviour strategies to manage challenging situations.
• Encouraging communication, emotional regulation, and independence.
• Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver the best outcomes.
Who We're Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates who have experience working with children or young people with:
• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Challenging behaviour
• Non verbal communication
You will be patient, resilient, proactive, and able to remain calm under pressure. A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND is essential.
