Job Title: ASD Teaching assistant - Full time - Long term
Job Description: Axcis Education is proud to be an industry-leading specialist in providing SEND teaching staff. We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate ASD Teaching Assistants, at a well-respected primary school in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Key Responsibilities: - Supporting pupils with ASD in a classroom setting, under the supervision of the class teacher. - Employing strategies to promote positive behaviour in line with the school's policy and individual student needs. - Facilitating a secure, safe, and supportive learning environment for all pupils. - Participating actively in lesson activities, while also providing feedback to the teacher on pupils' progress and challenges. - Keeping accurate records of students' performance, behaviour, and progress. - Attending regular training sessions and meetings to enhance professional development. Qualifications & Experience: - NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Support Teaching and Learning in Schools or relevant experience working with SEND. - Understanding of strategies to handle challenging behaviour and the ability to remain calm under pressure. - Experience working within an SEND setting, particularly with ASD, would be highly desirable. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, staff, and parents. - Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
