Are you a Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Sports Coach or Support Worker looking for meaningful work where you can make a genuine difference?
Axcis Education is recruiting an Autism Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist Access Centre in Lyde Green, South Gloucestershire, supporting children aged 5 to 11 with Autism.
This is a role where personality, patience and the right values matter more than previous experience. We are looking for someone warm, resilient and compassionate, who can build trusting relationships, remain calm when things are challenging and genuinely wants to help children thrive.
Why this setting?
The Access Centre provides a highly individualised learning environment for autistic pupils, with a strong focus on communication, social development and helping children access learning. Its approach includes sensory activities, positive behaviour strategies, Attention Autism, TEACCH, Makaton and alternative communication.
The school's most recent Ofsted inspection rated the school Good across all areas. Inspectors specifically found that pupils in the specialist provision thrive, with staff skilfully developing their social and language skills. Safeguarding was also judged effective.
You could be a great fit if you are:
• Patient, caring and emotionally resilient
• Naturally encouraging and positive
• Confident working with children and building relationships
• A youth worker, sports coach, support worker or aspiring Teaching Assistant
• Motivated by helping vulnerable children develop confidence and independence
