SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary ARP Provision
Location: Barnet (EN4)
Contract: Full-time | Term Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday (with an early finish at the end of the week)
About the Opportunity
A forward-thinking secondary school in Barnet is looking to appoint a skilled and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join its Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP). This role focuses on supporting students with autism, helping them access learning and develop key life skills within a structured and supportive setting.
Your Role Will Include:
Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Assisting with academic progress, communication, and social interaction
Providing personal care in a respectful and professional manner when required
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN specialists, and external agencies
Helping implement behaviour support strategies and EHCP outcomes
Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Has hands-on experience supporting young people with autism
Is confident and comfortable providing personal care
Brings a calm, consistent, and patient approach to their work
Communicates effectively and works well within a team
Has experience in a secondary or specialist setting (advantageous)
Is committed to safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing
