Key Responsibilities • Provide classroom, small group, and 1:1 support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). • Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation. • Encourage engagement in learning activities and classroom routines. • Help pupils develop independence, confidence, and life skills. • Use positive behaviour management and autism-friendly strategies to support learning. • Support sensory needs and assist pupils during transitions throughout the school day. • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and SEND professionals to deliver individualised support. • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. The Ideal Candidate • Experience working with children or young people with autism, SEND, ADHD, or additional learning needs. • A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs. • Patience, empathy, and resilience. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • The ability to remain calm and positive when supporting challenging behaviours. • A proactive and adaptable approach to learning and development. • Experience in education, childcare, care work, youth work, sports coaching, healthcare, or support work is highly desirable.
