Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
About the Role We are seeking a confident, resilient, and proactive Behaviour Mentor to support students across KS3 and KS4 in secondary schools in Trafford. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of behaviour management and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on young people’s progress and wellbeing. You will work closely with pupils who need additional support to engage positively with school life, helping them manage behaviour, develop social skills, and stay focused on learning. Key Responsibilities - Provide behaviour support for students in KS3 and KS4, both in and out of the classroom. - Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who display challenging behaviour. - Implement behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe, calm environment. - Work alongside teaching staff and pastoral teams to support individual behaviour plans. - Support students’ emotional regulation, confidence, and engagement in learning. - Help maintain a consistent, firm, and supportive presence across the school. Requirements - Experience working with challenging behaviour in a school or youth setting (desirable). - Team Teach qualification is a strong advantage—or willingness to undertake training. - Confident, calm, and able to diffuse difficult situations. - Strong communication and relationship-building skills. - A patient, approachable, and professional manner.
