Job Title: Behaviour Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education is seeking a resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hartcliffe, Bristol, starting September 2025. This is a full-time, term-time only position (8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday), offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of young learners.
The Role:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Implement behaviour management strategies to help pupils regulate their emotions
• Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to create a structured and nurturing environment
• Support pupils to engage with learning and develop positive relationships
• Encourage resilience, independence, and self-confidence in pupils
The Ideal Candidate:
• Experience supporting children with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs is highly desirable
• Patient, proactive, and understanding approach to working with children
• Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
