Job Title: School Sport lead
Axcis Education are working with a new alternative provision in Exeter who specialise in outdoor education working with pupils in a 6 week programme. We are seeking a sports lead to start in September. As they are a new company this will start off on a part-time basis working 2 days a week with the possibility of leading to a full-time post.
The provision works with all ages and needs, with a high number of pupils diagnosed with SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental, Health). The outdoor programmes as well as learning in a forest environment is a positive developmental tool for disengagement, low attendance from school and personal confidence through instilling values such as self-discipline, identity, leadership and core English, Maths, strengthening a young-person’s achievements at school.
Your role will be to instruct activities, plan lessons, lead young people, set up resources, and most importantly be a positive role-model for the pupils you instruct; building trustworthy relationships to make a difference in their lives. A background in sport is desirable, or having coached/instructed/ CrossFit, etc…
We pay a daily rate of £100 - £120 depending on experience. You will be working weekdays only, from 8:30 to 3:00 in Exeter. Drivers are desirable as it is on the outskirts of Exeter in a rural setting.
