Job Title: BSL Teacher - Year 6
Axcis Education is excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join the deaf provision at a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Islington. This is a full-time role, starting in January 2025.
Role Details:
Position: Year 6 Teacher (Deaf Provision)
Start Date: January 2025
Salary: Dependent on experience + SEN Allowance
Contract: Full-time
This role involves teaching within the school's specialist unit for deaf children, offering tailored support and inclusive education to help students thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality teaching to Year 6 pupils in the school's deaf provision.
Adapt lesson plans to meet the individual needs of students with hearing impairments.
Support pupils’ development in both academic subjects and personal growth.
Collaborate with support staff and specialists to ensure students receive the best possible education.
Participate in training to become a qualified Teacher of the Deaf.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Passion for inclusive education and willingness to train as a Teacher of the Deaf.
Strong commitment to fostering a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
