Job Title: College Teaching Asssitant
SEN Teaching Assistants – Ages 16-25 – Stockport
Axcis Education is proud to be working in close partnership with a specialist provision in Stockport that supports young people aged 16-25 with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairments, communication disorders, and autism.
This Outstanding setting offers a highly specialist, multi-sensory learning environment where every young person follows an individualised curriculum. You’ll be joining a passionate and collaborative team, working alongside Teachers, Therapists, and other SEN Teaching Assistants to provide exceptional education and care.
We are seeking enthusiastic and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to join this dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting students with complex needs to develop their communication, independence, and social skills, helping them to thrive and achieve their potential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students with complex communication and educational needs
- Assisting in planning and delivering engaging, individualised learning programmes
- Working 1:1 with students across classroom sessions and physical activities
- Supporting students with autism, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities
- Providing personal care and mobility support (including hoists and wheelchairs)
- Encouraging independence and fostering positive relationships
Requirements:
- Experience in a care or education setting is desirable but not essential
- Understanding of complex needs, autism, and sensory impairments
- Confidence in supporting challenging behaviour
- Empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills
- A positive attitude and commitment to making a difference
