Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Axcis Education are currently recruiting confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Blackburn and the wider East Lancashire area. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and are keen to gain valuable classroom experience.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lesson plans in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain focused, engaged, and on task. This role is well suited to graduates considering a career in teaching, experienced school support staff looking for a new challenge, or anyone with strong behaviour management skills and a passion for working with secondary school pupils.
The Opportunity:
• Work as a Cover Supervisor across a variety of secondary schools
• Support students by delivering pre-set lessons and promoting a positive learning environment
• £100 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
• Term-time only position
• Location: Blackburn and East Lancashire
• Flexible start dates available
• Both full-time and part-time roles available to suit your schedule
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring students stay on task and complete the work provided
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Deliver lesson materials set by the teacher – no planning or marking required
• Provide encouragement and support to students, promoting positive learning outcomes
• Build and maintain strong relationships with both staff and pupils to foster a safe and supportive environment
