Job Title: Family Liason Officer
Axcis Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Ormskirk, which is seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Liaison Officer to join their team in September This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for children by building strong relationships between school, families, and external support services. This is a full time position The Role As the Family Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in supporting pupils and their families by promoting positive engagement, improving attendance, and helping to remove barriers to learning. Working closely with the senior leadership team, safeguarding team, and external agencies, you will provide practical and emotional support to families while contributing to the school's inclusive ethos. Key Responsibilities • Monitor pupil attendance and work proactively with families to improve attendance and punctuality. • Build positive relationships with parents and carers, providing advice, guidance, and signposting to relevant support services. • Support the management of behaviour issues within school, working with pupils, staff, and families to achieve positive outcomes. • Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), supporting the school's safeguarding procedures and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns. • Attend and contribute to Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings and multi-agency meetings where required. • Work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals to ensure children and families receive appropriate support. • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports where necessary. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: • Has previous experience working with children and families within a school or similar setting. • Has a strong understanding of attendance, safeguarding, behaviour management, and family support. • Has experience of multi-agency working and attending TAF or similar meetings. • Possesses excellent communication and relationship-building skills. • Is empathetic, resilient, and able to work confidently with families facing a range of challenges. • Has a good understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities.
