Job Title: Flexible Teaching Assistant (School Hours) Location: Ilminster & Surrounding Areas Pay Rate: £92.00 – £109.00 per day Job Type: Flexible / Supply – Term Time Only Hours: School hours (typically 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday) Looking for flexible, rewarding work that fits around your life? We are currently recruiting Flexible Teaching Assistants to support a range of schools in and around Ilminster and Taunton. About the Role: As a Flexible Teaching Assistant, you’ll work across a variety of school settings, supporting students in lessons and helping to create a positive learning environment. This could involve working 1:1 with individual pupils or supporting small groups, particularly those who may need additional help with behaviour or emotional regulation. Each day can be different, giving you the chance to build experience across multiple schools and develop a broad skill set in education. What You’ll Be Doing: • Supporting students in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups • Assisting with behaviour management and promoting positive engagement • Helping students with additional needs, including SEMH and behavioural challenges • Working alongside teachers and school staff to support learning • Adapting quickly to new school environments and routines • Providing general classroom and pastoral support Who This Role Would Suit: • Individuals looking for flexible, term-time work during school hours • Parents or carers returning to work • Graduates or those considering careers in teaching, psychology, or youth work • Anyone with experience supporting children or young people, including: o Care or support roles o Youth work or coaching o Volunteering o Personal experience with additional needs Previous Teaching Assistant experience is not required, but confidence working with young people and a willingness to learn is essential.
