Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – SEN Provision | Croydon | Full-Time | ASAP Start
We are recruiting for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEN provision in Croydon. This is a full-time position starting ASAP, with the role continuing until July 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing specialist unit supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You'll be working alongside an experienced teacher, a supportive team of teaching assistants, and a class of up to 12 pupils in a well-resourced environment. The role will involve: • Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons. • Leading small-group intervention sessions to meet individual learning needs. • Taking responsibility for leading the class when required. • Contributing to lesson planning and classroom preparation alongside the teacher. • Supporting pupils with communication and learning using a range of SEN strategies. • Working collaboratively with a dedicated team to provide the best outcomes for pupils. We're looking for someone who has: • A recognised HLTA qualification • Previous experience working within a specialist SEN setting. • Confidence in leading groups and managing a classroom when needed. • Happy to provide personal care. • Experience supporting pupils with ASD and complex needs. • Knowledge of Makaton would be a distinct advantage, although not essential.
