Learning Support Assistant – Mainstream College (Childcare, Catering & Hair/Beauty) Location: Bromley, BR2 Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm Start Date: September 2026 Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them achieve their goals within a practical college environment? A welcoming mainstream college in Bromley is looking for enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join their team, supporting students across vocational courses including Childcare, Catering, Hairdressing, and Hair & Beauty. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a college setting, helping students with additional needs, including ASD, SEMH, epilepsy, and other learning needs, to fully access their chosen courses and develop confidence, independence, and employability skills. Vocational areas include: • Childcare • Catering • Hairdressing • Hair & Beauty The Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside lecturers and college staff to provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students overcome barriers to learning and successfully participate in practical lessons. You will support students both academically and practically, encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement throughout their college journey. Key Responsibilities • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs. • Support learners with ASD, SEMH, epilepsy, and other SEND requirements. • Assist students during practical vocational sessions. • Encourage independence, confidence, and social development. • Support positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation. • Assist with medical or personal care needs where required. • Work closely with lecturers and support teams to meet individual student needs. • Help students develop skills for employment and future independence.
