We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a vibrant and inclusive educational institution in Wandsworth, London. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing tailored assistance to students with varying educational needs, ensuring that every child receives the support necessary to thrive academically and socially.
Responsibilities:
• Work alongside teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons that accommodate all learning abilities.
• Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN) or those who require additional help.
• Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the organization of educational activities.
• Monitor and report on student progress, working closely with teachers to implement effective learning strategies.
• Encourage a positive learning environment, helping students to develop confidence and a love of learning.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents, ensuring that all involved are informed about student development and progress.
• Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions as required, demonstrating a commitment to professional growth and best practice in SEN support.
Requirements:
• Experience working in a classroom or educational support capacity is preferred.
• Strong empathy and patience, with an ability to build rapport with students.
• A proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving within an educational setting.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• A background check and appropriate clearances will be required upon employment.
