About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive school community in Hampton. Working closely with teachers, teaching assistants and specialist staff, you will help create a supportive learning environment that enables all pupils particularly those with additional needs to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with SEND, reinforcing classroom instruction and adapting materials as required.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, resource organisation and classroom management.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting observations to the class teacher and SENCO.
• Facilitate inclusion during whole-school activities, outings and extracurricular programmes.
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and self-advocacy using agreed strategies.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding procedures at all times.
Essential Requirements
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics; A-Level or relevant vocational qualifications desirable.
• Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs in a school or similar setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Patience, resilience and a genuine enthusiasm for fostering student success.
• DBS clearance (or ability to obtain).
