Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Experienced Learning Support Assistant - Primary SEND
Hampton, TW14 | Full-Time, Term Time Only (Temp to Perm) | From £14.25 per hour
Axcis Education is currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive primary SEND school in Hampton, TW14.
This rewarding role involves supporting primary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, and complex learning difficulties. You will work closely with teaching staff to help pupils access learning, develop social skills, and build confidence in a positive and nurturing environment.
Due to the location of the school and the nature of the role, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence, or live close to the school, and have a minimum of two years' experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
The Role
Provide 1:1 and small group support for primary-aged pupils with SEND.
Support children with autism, communication needs, and additional learning needs.
Encourage engagement, participation, and progress within the classroom.
Assist with emotional regulation, social development, and positive behaviour strategies.
Support children during lessons, playtimes, and structured learning activities.
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and SEND professionals to deliver individualised support.
Promote independence, confidence, and wellbeing throughout the school day.
What We're Looking For
A minimum of 2 years' experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
Experience working with pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or complex needs.
A full UK driving licence is desired or close proximity to the school due to lesser transport links.
A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
The ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to succeed.
