Learning Support Assistant Location: Twickenham, Greater London Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-15:30 (Full-time) Salary: Paid to scale Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive school community in Twickenham. Working closely with teachers and the SENCo, you will provide tailored support that enables pupils with additional needs to access the curriculum confidently and achieve their potential. Key Responsibilities • Deliver one-to-one and small-group support across a range of subjects, adapting resources to meet individual learning styles. • Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans, recording progress daily. • Assist in the preparation of classroom materials, ensuring a safe, structured, and stimulating environment. • Facilitate pupil participation in mainstream lessons, providing prompting, clarification, and reinforcement as required. • Support pupils with personal care, mobility, and communication needs, promoting independence and dignity. • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to share information and coordinate interventions. • Contribute to the development of a positive, inclusive school culture through proactive behaviour management and pastoral care. Essential Qualifications & Experience • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics (grade C/4 or above). • Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or similar setting. • Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff. • Familiarity with safeguarding policies and a commitment to child protection. • Good organisational abilities and proficiency in using digital learning tools.
