Job Title: Learning Support Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

Pay: £92.63–£97.00 per day
Axcis Education is working with a welcoming secondary school in South Bristol to recruit a full-time Learning Support Teaching Assistant for the full academic year starting in September.
This exciting and varied role is based within the school's Learning Support Base, where students can access additional academic and pastoral support throughout the school day. Whether pupils need help catching up with classwork, managing their emotions or simply need a quiet space to reset, you'll play a vital role in helping them overcome barriers to learning.
No two days are the same, making this the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and building positive relationships with young people.

About the Role
As a Learning Support Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Support pupils within the school's Learning Support Base throughout the school day
• Provide academic support to students who need additional help with their learning
• Offer pastoral support to pupils experiencing emotional, social or behavioural challenges
• Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, resilience and engagement
• Work closely with teachers, the SEND team and pastoral staff to ensure pupils receive consistent support
• Help create a calm, welcoming and inclusive environment where students feel safe and valued

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience working with secondary-aged pupils or young people
• Is calm, approachable and confident building relationships with students
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Can adapt quickly to different situations and enjoys a varied working day
• Has experience supporting SEND, SEMH or pastoral needs (desirable but not essential)
• Is passionate about helping young people succeed both academically and personally
