Job Title: Midday Meal Supervisor
Midday Meal Supervisor – Primary School – Newham £14.25–£15.69 per hour | Monday to Friday | 11:30am–1:00pm | Term Time Only | September Start Axcis are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newham who are seeking an experienced Midday Meal Supervisor to join their lunchtime team from September. This is a lovely opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play an important role in creating a safe, calm and positive lunchtime experience. The school has a strong community feel and supports a diverse group of pupils, including children with and without additional needs. Staff work closely together to ensure pupils feel safe, included and supported throughout the school day. The school is located just a 5-minute walk from the DLR, making it easy to reach by public transport. Parking is limited, so this role would be particularly suitable for someone local or travelling by train/DLR. The role is Monday to Friday, 11:30am–1:00pm, term time only, with the school looking to arrange trial days before September. About the Role As a Midday Meal Supervisor, you will support pupils during the lunchtime period, helping to ensure the dining hall, playground and wider school environment remain safe, structured and enjoyable. You will: • Supervise pupils in the dinner hall and playground during lunchtime • Support positive behaviour, safe play and respectful social interaction • Interact with both SEND and non-SEND pupils, offering guidance and reassurance where needed • Assist with general lunchtime routines, including lining up, transitions and maintaining a calm environment • Help pupils develop independence, good manners and confidence during unstructured time • Report any concerns or incidents to senior staff in line with safeguarding procedures • Support the wider school team as a general lunchtime assistant where required What We’re Looking For • Previous school experience is essential • A calm, friendly and confident approach with children • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs would be beneficial • Good behaviour management and strong communication skills • Reliability and punctuality, Monday to Friday • A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to support wherever needed • Good awareness of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing This is a fantastic part-time opportunity for someone with school experience who is looking for a consistent term-time role from September.
