Job Title: Nursery Assistant
Location: Thornbury, BS32 Start Date: Flexible start dates available Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday Contract: Temporary with potential to become permanent Pay: £83.40 per day (experience-based) Are you passionate about supporting young children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Nursery Assistant to join a vibrant and nurturing educational setting in Thornbury. Key Responsibilities: • Provide support and care to children with SEND/SEMH needs in a nurturing nursery environment. • Assist with planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development. • Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement individual learning plans tailored to each child’s needs. • Encourage social interaction and emotional growth through positive reinforcement and structured activities. • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times. • Support children with personal care needs where necessary, maintaining dignity and respect. Requirements: • Previous experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting is essential. • A patient, caring, and proactive attitude with a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs. • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals. • Relevant childcare qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Early Years Education or equivalent) is desirable but not essential. • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
