Location : Weymouth
Contract Type: Part-time 2 days per week (8:30am – 3:30pm)
Pay £89 - £95 per day
Axcis Education is recruiting for a welcoming mainstream primary school in Weymouth seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This role will involve supporting pupils in KS1. A strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum—especially early reading, phonics and early numeracy—is essential.
You will work both in the classroom and with individual or small groups of pupils, including those with additional needs or lower-level learners who require extra support.
Responsibilities may include:
• Delivering phonics, literacy and numeracy booster sessions using teacher-provided materials
• Providing 1:1 support or leading small-group interventions
• Supporting KS1 pupils with early reading and writing development
• Assisting the class teacher with whole-class learning
• Helping with classroom organisation, displays and daily routines
• Supporting social, emotional and behavioural needs
• Supervising playtimes and contributing to outdoor and creative learning activities
To be successful, you should have experience working with children and ideally some understanding of SEND within a school environment. You’ll need to be adaptable, patient, nurturing, and confident in building positive relationships with young learners.
This position is currently part-time with the potential to become full-time.
