Job Title: Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist primary setting for a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) and challenging behaviours.
This is a rewarding role for someone who thrives on building strong, positive relationships and making a real difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
Build positive, trusting relationships with children who may present challenging behaviours
Act as a strong, consistent role model
Set and maintain clear, firm boundaries
De-escalate situations and confidently manage verbal aggression
Work closely with teaching staff to support learning and emotional development
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Be energetic, engaging, and resilient
Have excellent listening and communication skills
Be confident in handling challenging behaviour
Have a natural ability to relate to pupils from a variety of backgrounds
Be calm under pressure and emotionally intelligent
Have an interest in sports (desirable but not essential)
Role Details:
Pay: £92.63 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start: Ongoing / ASAP
