Job Title: Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant
Are you a Psychology graduate from Bath Spa, the University of Bath, or based locally? Looking for hands-on experience that truly brings your studies to life? We’re recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support Post-16 students with autism, learning disabilities, and additional mental health needs in a specialist provision in Bath city centre. This full-time role (8:30am–3:30pm, 4 days per week) starts ASAP, pays £14.25 per hour, and becomes permanent after a 16-week settling-in period. This is a unique opportunity to apply your understanding of behaviour, development, and mental health in a real-world setting. You’ll work in a supportive further education environment recognised by Ofsted for its inclusive culture, strong pastoral care, and focus on helping students build independence and confidence for adult life. Why Psychology graduates thrive in this role: Your degree has already given you a strong foundation in: • Understanding behaviour and emotional regulation • Supporting individuals with diverse needs • Building positive, trusting relationships • Observing and responding to individual differences In this role, you’ll put those skills into practice every day — supporting students 1:1 and in small groups, helping them navigate learning, social situations, and personal development. What you’ll gain: • Direct experience with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health • Insight into education, SEN support, and therapeutic approaches • Strong experience for Masters, PhD, Educational Psychology or Clinical pathways • The chance to make a real, lasting impact Who we’re looking for: • Psychology graduates or students nearing completion • People who are patient, empathetic, and curious about behaviour • Individuals motivated to support vulnerable young people • Those considering a future in psychology, therapy, or education This role is more than experience — it’s a meaningful first step into your future career.
