Location: West Drayton Full Time | Long Term / Temp to Perm Axcis Education are currently recruiting for three fantastic teaching opportunities within a specialist secondary school in West Drayton. This is a special needs school supporting students aged 11–19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside a range of additional learning needs. The school also supports a high proportion of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Students benefit from a broad, practical and engaging curriculum, with a strong focus on personal development, enrichment and helping young people build the skills they need for their future. The school is looking for three enthusiastic and committed QTS teachers to join their team: 1. QTS Nurture Teacher – Full Time, Long Term This role would suit a teacher who is passionate about working with students who may have experienced barriers to learning and who thrives on creating a calm, supportive and engaging classroom environment. You will be working within a nurture setting, supporting students to develop both academically and personally while helping them build confidence, independence and positive relationships with learning. Experience working within SEND, SEMH, ASD or challenging behaviour settings would be highly desirable. 2. QTS Nurture Teacher / Deputy SENCO – Full Time, Temp to Perm This is an exciting opportunity for a QTS teacher who is looking to take on additional responsibility alongside their teaching role. You will combine nurture teaching with Deputy SENCO responsibilities, supporting the wider SEND provision across the school. The role would suit someone with a good understanding of SEND processes, EHCPs and supporting students with additional needs. Previous SENCO experience or experience working closely with a SENCO would be advantageous, although applications from experienced QTS teachers with strong SEND knowledge are encouraged. 3. QTS Art Teacher – Full Time, Long Term The school is also looking for a creative and enthusiastic Art Teacher to deliver engaging lessons to students across the secondary age range. This is a great opportunity for an Art specialist who can use creativity to engage students who may have struggled within a traditional mainstream environment. The ability to build positive relationships, manage behaviour calmly and adapt lessons to meet individual needs will be particularly important.
