Job Title: Secondary School Teaching Assistant Location: Mainstream Secondary School in the St Helens Job Type: Full time, September Start Salary: Between £12.50 - £14.50 per hour based on experience, paid on a weekly basis. Details: Axcis are looking for a confident and inspiring teaching assistant to work within a large mainstream high school in the St Helens area, who cater for students aged 11-17 from a range of backgrounds. The school will provide the successful candidate with all relevant resources to ensure you can thrive in a new environment. Responsibilities: • Work closely with the pupils on a 1:1 or group basis to provide tailored support and guidance around each individual need. • Help students to manage their emotions and behaviours. • Previous experience working with children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD is essential. • Good understanding of the KS3 curriculum and the ability to support pupils with their learning. • Strong behaviour management skills. The ideal candidate must: • Strive to be a positive role model. • Foster togetherness through the school family and the wider Global Community. • Help in the development and support of personal, spiritual and emotional development. • Build and develop trusting and nurturing relationships. • Promote resilience and independence for all pupils. It is required that you have experience based around SEMH, ASD and ADHD and that you can be a calming presence that can help pupils remain focused in a safe and stimulating environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a professional environment and be a positive role model to students looking for guidance.
