Axcis Education is proud to be working with a local primary school in Stockport who are looking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team who dedicated to supporting students who have learning difficulties.
The school is looking for the following attributes:
1. Empathy and Patience
- SEN students may have complex needs and may take more time to learn or communicate. Being empathetic and patient helps build a trusting relationship and creates a supportive learning environment.
2. Understanding of SEN Needs
- A foundational knowledge of various SEN conditions (like Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities) and an understanding of strategies to manage these needs in the classroom.
3. Resilience and Positivity
- Working with SEN students can be challenging, so resilience is crucial to handle setbacks positively and remain encouraging toward students.
4. Teamwork and Collaboration
- Working effectively with teachers, therapists, parents, and other support staff ensures the student’s needs are met through a consistent and collaborative approach.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children in a school setting
- Experience supporting students with SEND is highly desirable
- A passion for helping students achieve their full potential
- Relevant qualifications are a bonus but not essential
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
