Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Infant School, Weymouth Start Date: September Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Pay: £89 – £95 per day Are you passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive in their learning environment? We’re seeking a caring, proactive, and adaptable Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN in a Year 1 class. About the role: This is a rewarding role working one-to-one with a pupil, helping them get the most out of their time at school by: • Supporting the pupil with their learning and helping them manage their emotions • Creating and adapting resources based on their needs • Keeping them engaged through creative, flexible support • Promoting a positive, inclusive attitude and encouraging personal growth • Building a strong, trusting relationship to help them feel secure and supported long-term About you: We’re looking for someone who is: • Experienced in working with children, particularly those with Autism, SEMH, or behavioural challenges • Patient, resilient, and able to remain calm in a dynamic environment • Confident in adapting learning tasks and communication styles • Passionate about inclusive education and pupil wellbeing • Proactive and flexible in their approach to daily classroom support A background in education or relevant SEN experience is desirable, but training can be provided for the right candidate with the right mindset.
