SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School Location: Wool, Dorset Hours: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm Pay Rate: £14.25–£14.95 per hour Start Date: ASAP Are you a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity supporting children with additional needs? As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in helping pupils access the curriculum, develop independence and feel confident within the classroom. About the Role As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: - Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) - Support children with additional needs to access learning and participate fully in classroom activities - Work alongside the class teacher and SENCo to deliver personalised support strategies - Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours - Support children with communication, literacy, numeracy and social development - Assist with classroom activities, lesson preparation and learning resources - Encourage emotional regulation and use positive behaviour support strategies - Monitor pupil progress and contribute to observations, assessments and support plans - Create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment for all pupils You will work closely with teachers and the wider school team to ensure pupils receive the encouragement, consistency and support they need to thrive.
