Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist School
Chorley | Axcis Education | £95+ per day
Axcis Education is recruiting for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Chorley, supporting children and young people with severe learning difficulties and complex SEND.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a supportive specialist setting, helping pupils develop their learning, communication, independence and confidence.
The Role
You will:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support.
* Support pupils with severe learning difficulties and complex SEND.
* Assist with learning, communication, personal development and independence.
* Follow individual EHCP targets and support plans.
* Promote positive behaviour using a calm, patient and consistent approach.
* Work closely with teachers and other professionals.
* Support personal care needs where required.
Essential Requirements
* Experience supporting children or adults with severe learning difficulties and complex SEND.
* Minimum 6 months' experience working with children.
* For overseas candidates: minimum 3 months' experience working with children in the UK.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
* A caring, patient and resilient approach.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
