SEND Learning Support Assistant – Mainstream Secondary – Havering £100–£115 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Havering Axcis Education is recruiting a confident and personable SEND Learning Support Assistant to work within a mainstream secondary school in Havering, supporting students with a range of additional needs including Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH and mild to moderate learning difficulties. This role would suit someone who enjoys working with teenagers and understands how to provide the right level of support without creating dependency. You’ll be helping students stay focused, organised and engaged across the school day while encouraging them to become more confident and independent in their learning. The school is looking for someone who is calm, approachable and able to build relationships quickly, while still maintaining clear expectations and professional boundaries. About the Role - Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 - Working with pupils with Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH and learning difficulties - Providing classroom, 1:1 and small-group support - Helping students with focus, organisation and understanding tasks - Supporting pupils across subjects including English, Maths, Science and Humanities - Helping students manage emotional regulation and low-level behaviour - Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff - Encouraging students to develop confidence, resilience and independence About You We would particularly like to hear from candidates who: - Have previous experience as an LSA, SEND TA or classroom support worker - Are confident working with secondary-aged students - Have experience supporting Autism, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties - Can build positive relationships without becoming overly familiar - Understand how to support students without doing the work for them - Are calm, reliable and comfortable using initiative - Can commit to a full-time, long-term role The School & Location The role is based in Havering, with opportunities accessible from Romford, Hornchurch, Rainham, Upminster and surrounding areas.
