Job Title: SEND Learning Support Assistants
Axcis Education are looking to recruit a number of SEND Learning Support Assistant in the Leeds area on a long term basis. The school caters for a diverse group of learners aged 2 to 19 with range of needs, including moderate to severe learning difficulties, autism, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one support and assistance to students with SEND, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Support students with various activities, ensuring their engagement and participation in the learning process.
Contribute to the implementation of Individual Education Plans and Individual Behaviour Plans
Support students with personal care needs
Requirements:
Experience working with individuals with SEND, preferably in an educational setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to the diverse needs of learners.
Willingness to support with personal care and toileting.
Up to date Manual Handling Training would be highly advantageous
Experience using a range of de-escalation techniques to support students in crisis, up to date Team Teach would be highly advantageous
