The Role
As a SEND Lunch Cover Assistant, you will support pupils during lunchtime, helping to create a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience for children with additional needs.
You will work alongside the wider school team to support pupils with their social development, communication, independence, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
• Support pupils during lunchtime and break periods.
• Encourage positive social interaction and independence.
• Assist pupils with additional needs, including complex learning needs and SEND requirements.
• Provide support with personal care where required.
• Help create a calm and supportive lunchtime environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Work as part of a friendly and experienced SEND team.
The Ideal Candidate
• A caring, patient, and positive approach.
• Experience supporting children or young people is desirable but not essential.
• Personal SEND experience as a parent, carer, or family member is welcomed.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Reliable, flexible, and willing to support pupils’ individual needs.
