We are currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Wandsworth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with a strong background supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide high-quality support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, SEMH, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND.
Support students both inside and outside the classroom.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
A patient, caring and proactive approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A genuine passion for supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
Essential Requirements
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one.
Right to work in the UK.
Relevant experience within an education or care setting is desirable.
