Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Teacher to join our vibrant Hampton school community. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, inclusive learning experiences for pupils with SEND, collaborating closely with senior staff, teaching assistants, and external specialists to ensure every child achieves their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) of assigned pupils.
• Conduct regular assessments, record progress, and adjust interventions accordingly.
• Lead and contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings, sharing expertise and advocating for appropriate support.
• Provide targeted small-group and one-to-one teaching, employing evidence-based strategies and assistive technologies.
• Mentor and support teaching assistants and support staff, fostering a cohesive approach to inclusion.
• Liaise with parents/carers, offering clear communication on pupil progress and collaborative goal-setting.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and stimulating classroom environment in line with safeguarding and health & safety policies.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a PGCE or equivalent in SEND or a related field.
• Minimum 2?years experience teaching pupils with SEND in a mainstream or special school setting.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation (e.g., SEND Code of Practice, EHCPs).
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal and analytical skills.
